We often hear that working in the same location over and over again can be hard, but for us that’s never been something that we struggle with. We have already done lots of wedding photography at Kodarinov Mlin in the past, where we created lots of beautiful wedding stories. The constant challenge is to create a different story each time, we force ourselves to find frames hidden to the bride and groom, to create frames which have never been done before, to find stories between guests and create complete wedding stories at the same time.

Sitting in the midst of the Dragonja Valley, one of the most beautiful places in Slovenia – is Kodarinov mlin. Kodarinov mlin is a gorgeous restored mill and a spectacular wedding venue deep in the hills of the Dragonja Valley.

Renovated over a decade ago by husband and wife team, Vasja and Ingrid Kodarin, Kodarinov mlin even has a working mill on site. Lovingly restored back to health, this rustic Italian villa in the hills is a wonderful location for your ceremony and reception.

For ultimate use of the space get married outside, in Kodarinov’s stunning grounds, encircled by the best of Slovenia’s natural landscape against a backdrop of magnificent views of the Dragonja Valley that surround.

Follow up the ceremony with locally sourced food and wine, served under a beautiful marquee, topped off with a night of partying under the stars.

The Dragonja Valley is a magnificent stretch of unspoilt beauty in Slovenia. A heavenly expanse filled with magical waterfalls and pools, glittering forests, fragrant wild flowers, natural springs, green hills and staggering scenery. With the River Dragonja running through the valley and on to the Adriatic Sea, this rural idyll is the perfect place to hike and spend some quality time in the outdoors.

With Kodarinov mlin one of the only two mills left in what was once an area densely populated with many mills, your time will be wonderfully uninterrupted as there are only a few farms present in the area.

This beautiful landscape delivers breathtaking views across the Julian Alps, Trieste, Koper and on to Croatia beyond. Close to Portoroz, Slovenia’s gorgeous beach resort and the Secovlje Salt Fields, there is plenty in the area to see and do.

A place of contrasting landscapes, Portoroz is a brilliant beach location with beautiful beaches, elegant spas, wellness centres and plenty of opportunities for holiday fun. Secovlje Salt Fields on the other hand, is a natural wonder that has been supplying its renowned natural salt through the same traditional methods since the thirteenth century.

Spanning 1600 acres, the Secovlje Salina National Park is a protected area of natural salt production and home to an enormous range of plants and wildlife, including up to 270 species of birds.
